That doesn't make it a D heavy market, especially on the right side.
- Karlsson (RD) is very talented but he is 35 and has a big cap hit and has a full NMC
- Rielly (LD) - I don't believe he is actually on the trade block
- Ristolainen (RD) is a second pair guy at best, playing less minutes, less games, and maybe half Andersson's point production
- Byram (LD) has a lot of potential
- Oleksaik (LD) is more of a second/third pair guy
- Hague (LD) is more of a third liner
I don't think this changes the market at all. If you want a top pair RD you only have a couple of options and a lot of teams have depth issues on their right side D.
On July 1st, everyone can talk to the Flames about an Andersson trade with retention and contract extension. His only real competition is Ekblad, still.

That’s fair. Just sharing what he said as it made sense with other reports that the offers are not according to the ask from the Flames. I still think it should be done this summer for the best offer they get.
