"If player X plays with McDavid, they will get more points and that will justify their contract."
Um ok... they probably will. However, take a step back and look at the big picture, you're talking about putting a ####ty player with McDavid so they will look better - great plan! How about trying to acquire GOOD players to play with McDavid instead? Ever think of that?
