Agreed. Dallas seems readily willing to part with Robertson, but sounds reluctant to deal Johnston, which is telling. Robertson is a good player, but has less ability to influence a shift than Johnston does and Dallas knows this 1st hand. If Dallas deals Johnston they’d have resources to re-up Robertson, but it appears they wisely place a greater value on Johnston.
As noted Robertson is good, but if the Flames move Andersson for Robertson the future is now given the age of the team’s top producers. Building is likely over, and the team is on the clock over the span of the next three years. I don’t see Robertson turning a multi-year non-playoff team into a contender.
