I love to dunk on the Oilers and they definitely could have got better value for Hall at the time but I thought at the time and still do now that they got the better end of that one, all things considered. Hall’s Hart trophy was just for the memes. Didn’t amount to anything for Jersey.

He as pretty productive for them, and even then at the end of his time there, they were able to recoup a lot of asset quality:

I don't know how that is anything but an easy win for the Devils. Larsson was lost for nothing in an expansion draft.
