My friend has a Mach E. IMO it is an appliance that moves quickly. There's pros and cons of BEV vs an ICE.

In the winter, my buddy often visits friends and tops up while over to ensure he has enough charge to get through the rest of the day in case he doesn't conveniently get to another charger. This isn't a factor when doing daily things inside Calgary and can easily top up overnight at home, but if doing heavy/longer driving during a cold snap, that's requirement is very inconvenient IMO (My buddy lives in Cochrane).

IMO a BEV would be fine for daily driving within the city limits, especially if the vehicle is not driven for longish periods of time. But if it's a vehicle I'd ever want to use to go outside of city limits, I'm looking at a hybrid/PHEV. I do longer trips (6+ hour drives) with both my vehicles a few times a year and plenty of trips to the mountains (multiple times monthly)and I prefer to just gun it to my destination ASAP. I'd be livid having to forcibly do half an hour an hour detour on multiple occasions before reaching my destination and even more so if I run into a situation where I'd have to wait i line for a charging station.
