I'd say the two worst moves by Conroy have been the Honzek pick and the Tanev trade. Grushnikov looks like nothing, but assuming Battaglia was from the Dallas pick, he's looking pretty good. I wish that the cap space would have been weaponized at least somewhat, but I don't know if that's on Conroy. Hopefully it happens this year.
The rest of his work has been quite solid. I really like the Coronato extension. Last year's draft was outstanding. Zarubin had 93.5%. Battaglia had 90 points in the OHL. Mews was over a point per game as a defenseman. Luke Misa was extremely good value. Hoskin had a great first year. Gridin did about as well as we could have hoped. And even for the 2023 draft, most of the picks outside of Honzek look pretty solid, especially Suniev. And even Honzek isn't terrible. It's just that most of the players drafted around him are looking a lot better (Sandin-Pellika, Moore, Perreault, Stenberg, Musty, Ritchie, Cowan, Nadeau, Edstrom, Cristall, etc.)
