I think you'd be fine. The human element takes center stage. There are a couple scary moments, and a few jump scares... but less than in 28 Days (or Weeks) Later. I would say maybe 20% of the movie is zombie fuelled. Much of it is how to deal with grief, loss, and the afterlife. The opening is the scariest part, but it lasts just over five minutes.
