Soviets and Americans hated each other. They weren't used. Pakistan and India loath each other, they haven't been used. To say that the Iranian regime is more likely to use them is without any logical basis.

the "wiping off the map" trope is used too much in this conversation. but in reality, it's a great way to stir up some nationalist/ethnic/religious contempt when needed.

Is it a risk? sure. But, i truly think more people are dead without nukes than with them. I couldn't imagine the scale of dead between India/Pakistan if neither party had nuclear weapons.
You may be right. Hopefully we never have to find out. But, you did say a lot without saying it with the bolded.
