Buffalo I think would also be one of the teams that would overspend ($$) on Andersson in an effort to change their culture.
…I mean, the Sabres have to do something.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Columbus do the same, and with the Monahan connection, it could be a good fit. 14th overall for Andersson, who says no?

I think this thought that Buffalo has to do something has been there for years. I doubt that it has changed to the point where they would deal a top 10 pick for a player like Andersson at their age, contract status (even if he resigns, he won’t be cheap), and impact. I would say Andersson ought to fit between a 2-4 on the depth chart. I think there would need to be more than Andersson and I don’t believe 18OA in a weak/thin draft gives them anything they don’t already have.
All things being equal, if the Sabres do move their pick, they’re likely looking for a younger player with control. I don’t know, maybe Andersson + 18OA for Sammuelson + 9OA works? There’s talk of a buyout there, perhaps Buffalo would rather trade the contract and the Flames have the cap space and LHS D need. I’d also wonder if the Sabres would have interest in Zary if they have to move Peterka.
Columbus, I see a more realistic trade partner.
