I read this article in the Globe today, unfortunately it's subscriber-based access only. Jeffrey Simpson is a good writer. I can see the parallels between Calgary and Toronto, and certainly in the way each city is perceived from other municipalities.
For the most part, however, the article is complimentary to Calgary in how the city deals with its growth. He mentions that other cities (particularly Ottawa) should take notice. Also mentioned is the ongoing battle between Mayor Bronconnier and Premier Stelmach.
