Anderson would certainly make them better now, but they are some years away from being a good team. By the time they are good, Anderson is likely regressing.

The only thing that the Sharks are missing from being good right now is a D group that is built to play in the NHL instead of AHL.
- They have a good top6 group of forwards lead by Celebrini, Smith, Eklund, and Toffoli and a couple more high end prospects to graduate.
- Askarov is ready to take over the net from Georgiev's performance last season.
If they can rebuild their top 4 D then that suddenly starts to look like a team ready to compete instead of tank.
If they do not try to improve their D then they are going to decimate Askarov in his rookie season. That would be an ... interesting decision.
