Not really TBH.
It's a contract you see an unproven RFA that hasn't proven himself at the NHL level get when he wants to stay on the team he's on.
Bourque hasn't really proven himself to get much more than $1.5M on a contract right now on the short term.
Dallas isn't in a position to sign him long term and need contracts like this to fill out their roster.
To me this means he's not getting traded and he's getting a 1 year deal to prove himself worth more and help them fill out the roster.
If they were trading him he probably holds more value as an RFA where the team acquiring him can try to lock him up longer term on more of a value deal, than on a 1 year deal.
