Yah, I can see that, but I think the differences are:
- 6 years and 8 are actually a big difference
- Calle was younger (more potential growth) than this player.
That said, if someone tells me this is a savvy move because one would anticipate this player of substitute to cost them like 6 million in 2 years, then I get it. Might be my Flames goggles, but this seems like they just signed this player for market value but decided to lock him up for 8 years?
