Their own stupidity got them four #1 overall picks. They eventually found a generational player. The league had to change the rules to prevent teams from getting rewarded for unintentionally being so bad.
Back on topic...How the F does Frederic get 8 years? He's 27 with barely 100 points....if he didn't just sign an 8 year contract I would have said he'd be at risk of not playing in the NHL in a couple of years.
