You do wonder if the Flames would favour Kindel given their familiarity and number of viewings? Probably most of the Flames scouts have seen him play in person, when they've been in Calgary for meetings and whatnot. And the Hanlon promotion might suggest Conroy prefers the known and familiar to the unknown.
Then again, Flames haven't drafted a Hitman in a decade (Karnaukhov), and before that it had been 15 years, back when the draft was last in Calgary (Kraun, Davis). Edmonton and Vancouver have each drafted as many Hitmen as the Flames have.
