I think this is the point though... look at the diversity of the locations you're listing together (low tax / 'good' weather with high tax / 'bad weather' with high tax / 'good' weather). Players make choices for a myriad of reasons, so the 'hot weather' is a positive for some but doesn't move the needle for others. New York and Miami are pretty different, so listening them together just proves that diversity.
Or with Marner, posters were suggesting San Jose is a good fit because young players and a good place to raise family. I guess then taxes are not so important anymore (?).
I think it's fine to list 'advantages' but they're all of different magnitudes (including zero) for different players... so hard to point to them as meaningful unless you know the player personally imo.

Sure but it isn't pretty obvious that some markets, for a myriad of reasons, are considered attractive destinations and have an easier time recruiting and retaining players? We can all name them: LA, San Jose, Anaheim, Las Vegas, New York, Florida.
