Zadorov wanted more money.
Tanev and Tofoli wanted more term.
Lindholm wanted more money than they were comfortable with.
They wanted Hanifin to stay but he didn't want to sign.
It's prudent to find the lines on quality players and not go into a period of expiring contracts with a "not signing anyone" hard line.
