I remember when the Canucks were the team heavily rumored to be acquiring Hanifin at the 2018 draft and the Flames swooped in and got in in the Dougie deal. Don’t know if that will happen again.

Flames have Kadri for 4 more years at $7M hopefully not long for their top line. Do they see Rossi as the long term number 1 guy? Probably not so why have a 2 and 3 C make $7M?

Canucks have Pettersson locked up at $11.6M. They do not have a 2nd line C so adding Rossi and giving him $7M makes a ton of sense to me.
