Not sure how well I'll get at the parry/perfect dodge timing. I'm usually decent at that kind of thing but the game doesn't really give a clear visual indicator like other games so seems like you have to learn each enemy? I'm not usually good at that... I wish they had a difficulty setting to just relax the timing of that without making everything else easier, I guess we'll see how it goes.

There are sound cues that help with timing, and each enemy has its own. I’ve been playing Mother 3 on GBA (release a localized version on Switch, Nintendo!) and it has a similar mechanic where each enemy has a heartbeat rhythm and if you get the timing right you can do combos. Very cool.
I think the latest update added a lighter difficulty with easier dodge and parries.
