But Kreider is more of the Cheechoo mold of 50 goal scorer than say a guy like Iginla. At age 31 his career high was 28 goals and 53 points. The next three years he scores 52, 39, and 36 before dropping to 22 last year. I'm not sure how much of this is the Panarin effect. Don't get me wrong...he was a good top 6 winger with size. But more of a 25 to 30 goal scorer is his norm.
I think he could bounce back to being that near 30 goal and mid 50 point player as he was pretty banged up last year. But I have zero problems with the Rangers giving guys away to get spend more on a younger guy who will do similar things to what a healthier Kreider could.
