As far as on ice ability goes, they aren't particularly close, Miller is very much a step above Hague.
As far as playoff pedigree goes Hague has played 1 more playoff game than Miller. Hague does have a Cup ring, Miller has been to the Finals though.
Yes Hague will cost less, but that because he is a 3rd pairing defenseman and Miller is top 4 defenseman. So it comes down to what are you looking for.
