The Saga films should have been about Anakin/Luke. And that's what they were until Disney bought them.
The saga ended in EP 6. Done. Fin. Empire defeated. Emperor dead.
A new Disney trilogy could have been made that dealt with completely new characters and storylines with maybe SOME subtle fan service to the Anakin/Luke story. Trying to continue the saga was always going to be a disaster because you can't continue a story that is already finished.
I simply hate what they did with the Saga, but I love a lot of the other stuff they did (like Rogue One, Mando, Andor, etc).
