Why, what benefit to anyone is there doing a week ago vs. now? I can literally only think of benefits to taking their time to fire him, which include - time to disconnect from an emotional loss (make sure you are making a decision with your head vs. heart), time to get more information on the season, the playoffs, and very specifically the bizarre game 7 situation from other members of your organization to inform your decision.
