First round exit every year other than the game 7 OT win against Dallas. Then they got smoked round 2. I think fans focus way to much on a couple strong regular seasons they had while ignoring the many underachieving moments they also had. Good team but not elite.

I think Bennett not panning out how we thought he would in Calgary hurt those teams from being better (even though he always played well in the playoffs). Also Monny's injuries slowing his play down. Either way by far the biggest failure of the Flames org since the mid 90's (the time period I was born in) is not getting a franchise level center. Monny was very good but he honestly was never truly elite. Same with Lindholm. Langkow and Conroy, both very good but not elite centers. Jokinen wasn't Florida Jokinen when he was on the Flames. I'd be very much ok with the Flames sucking for years if it meant we could get a Mackinnon or McDavid out of it
