Well this is the ongoing argument on this board. Some think that there has been a shift in philosophy and they over-performed beyond their own expectations this year.
Some think it's a continuation of what this organization has been for decades.
One side isn't going to convince the other they are right.
No one likes what this franchise has done in the last 2 decades, it's just a matter of if you think there is a different approach or not.
But the Oilers are not an example of anything resembling a plan on how to build a successful hockey team, unless you think there is another McDavid on the horizon (there isn't).
