I'm not opposed to them gaining a foothold in our provincial legislature over a period of time to flesh out their charter, but the fact that they will get a referendum with this level of disorganization is an awful idea.
Smith feels like she must entertain it though because she is afraid of the former option.

They are a bunch of little factions with largely different ideas on separation, with their only commonalities being anger, victimization, and the want to separate.
I attended the town hall event in Red Deer and it was exactly what you would expect. It started with a guy in an awful toupee rattling off some weird history lesson with the energy of a squirrel on crack and Red Bull. And buy my book.
The next guy was some lawyer from Ontario with the cadence of a Ted Talk giving them all permission to not have a plan: "First you separate, then you negotiate. We don't need to have any answers now." No, you jackasses. You better have the answers nailed down and solid as granite before you even come to the table with the Federal Government. Oh, and buy my book.
The most entertaining part of the event was batty old Gordon Kesler. He rambled on like an idiot for 20 minutes, trying to find stuff on Facebook he had seen and still whining about Trudeau Classic. They're still not willing to let COVID and the vaccine go, the WEF is after us, Carney is a mastermind installed illegally as PM, and on and on. Then some guy he obviously had a beef with stood up and called him a chicken s###. Don't buy my book because "I don't read. I don't like to read" (he actually said that while looking for an meme on Facebook).
Next, Cam Davies started on about gender ideology, tampons in men's bathrooms, and a totally true story of him being on a 3 mile run with his marine buddies after getting the vaccine and someone dropping dead in front of him. And may God bless his heart for starting a class action lawsuit that he definitely won that excluded 3500 military personnel from getting the shot for religious reasons.
These are unserious people with unserious motivations and an unserious but dangerous goal.
