I would expect they would shut it down to refurbish it. Looking at the plan both spans over Anderson are "new" bridges, so Deerfoot will be down to 2 lanes each way for a while. It would make sense to do a refurb while they can.
Keep in mind the WB span on Stoney- that bridge was already 15 years old. They also took the pedestrian portion and turned it into vehicle traffic.
