Not directly related to job recommendations, but I've been kicking around the idea in my head that minimum wage could be set proportionally to experience/education required in the job posting.

Say add 10% to minimum wage for every year of experience / education that is demanded in the add, and required that the ad include what the effective minimum wage for the role is, so neglecting this could be reported.

it would mean minimum wage at $15 for no qualifications, would turn into $16.50 if the employer is asking for a year of experience, $22.50 if the employer is asking for 5 years. $39 if they are asking for 10 years experience and an MBA...

I don't know that it would have a meaningful impact on wages, but it might tamp down on companies making ridiculous demands line 5-10 years of experience for a clerical or otherwise entry level role, and might address the feeling many have that they need a degree just to apply for a job.

The ad for a Senior Manager could easily state the effective minimum wage for the role is $78,000/year based on $39/hour, and still offer much more, as the going market rate for the role. It would just establish a baseline for the kinds of qualifications an employer can request of applicants at certain salary levels. And would hopefully open up pathways for kids to apply to more different jobs
