I assume Sigalet has liked what he has seen from this guy. His stats are very underwhelming, as is his previous NHL experience. However, stats aren't everything, so either Prosvetov has either taken steps forward in his development, or the Flames think there is enough there to bring him in on a one-way, stick him in the AHL and work with him.
If Vladar is gone - and if it is Cooley battling with Prosvetov - then that's probably a step backward for the team. Vladar was good. Maybe Cooley is ready - he had a tonne of tools, just didn't have the benefit of consistent coaching. Maybe Provetsov is ready. My bet is Cooley moves up onto the Flames, and for the first time since i can remember, the Flames' AHL farm team will be backstopped by two Russian goalies.
