I weirdly get a feeling that people haven't watched a lot of hockey here, even though that's obviously not true.

You all should know that hockey is a game of momentum, and both teams will have it in almost every game. The winners are separated from the losers less by how often they can have momentum, and more by how they handle the momentum changes.

Dallas doesn't quit when they're down, they can hold the fort when the other team has momentum, and when they get momentum they tend to bury some pucks. That's how you normally win hockey games, not by a 60 minutes of total domination.

Dallas showed why they're here. This series isn far from over, but they are a good team.

Edmonton also showed why their goaltenders have such poor numbers, their defense was panicking when Dallas started pushing in the 3rd.
Dallas didn't look good in their last 2 games vs the Jets, and the Oilers had won 8 of 9 coming in.

So there was a larger context to what we were seeing. It wasn't just 2 bad periods in a vacuum.

Maybe we shouldn't be so quick to denigrate those with pessimistic outlooks based on what they're seeing. The accusations of "closet Oiler fandom" is something this board could do without, honestly.
