So you have a few witnesses with the same version and one with a different version at the time. But with the possibility of the other four coordinating their stories, it make it a little weaker. Reasonable doubt could be slipping.
I don't think Howden is the final player witness either and if the prosecution wanted to end Crown's case with a mic drop, I would bet something bigger is coming up.

Has there been a ruling as to whether he can be challenged with those texts yet (the hostile witness thing)? Until he can, those texts are not in evidence and the judge will have to diverce them from his consideration of the facts.
