Side bar: Regina is weird. You'd think they'd be more Flames or Jets fans. But nope. Tons of Loser fans instead. They can't reconcile being a Flames fan, as they think it means being a Stamps fan. I get asked often if I'm a Stamps fan since I'm from Calgary. No. Then they perk up and say well, you must be a Rider fan, and by default, an Oilers fan because I'm not a Stamps fan. No again, and then I laugh and say I'm just not a fan of a sh!-tty sport.
But I digress
My kid's game ends, I walk out and see 4-3. In front of probably 20 parents who are all clearly Oilers fans, I laugh and say really loud to my wife "Holy crap, the good guys took the lead!". The number of dirty looks I got, pure joy to my soul.

Keep on fighting the good fight over there ! Sad to hear so many Sasky fans cheer for the oilers. Sasky people are usually known for their common sense. It must be the McBandwagon effect.
Sadly many lacrosse and hockey parents on my kid’s teams in Calgary cheer for the oilers. It’s an epidemic of disgustingness. Like the Last of Us, but instead of people being overtaken by ugly fungus and making weird sounds, they are overtaken by blue and orange attire and can’t stop saying ‘Mcdavid’.
