But the Sharks have Celebrini and Smith in hand, Askarov in net. Dickinson on D coming up.
They could have one 50% shot at a 2nd line center on their roster, or, if the trade was:
Coronato+Bzrustewicz+Gridin+ 2 other later 1st round prospects... Well I think I would probably accept that.

Its true that it sounds crazy or unlikely at first glance, but there is a logic that few NHL GMs ever utilize.
-QC/COL traded an elite piece (Lindros) for quality depth, and won a cup soon after (yes, I know Patrick Roy makes a difference as well!).
-If EDM had traded some of their high picks for some depth, they may have actually had some success prior to last season.
The idea is that elite talent trumps everything else, but the reality is you need elite talent AND quality depth.
SJ has elite (but young) talent, but very little around the edges. Give them some quality depth players and they would rise up the standings quickly IMO.
Anderson, Coleman, Vladar, FLA 1st and a wing prospect (Honzek, Gridin, etc.) for #2.
