I think Marner is going to sign with a team in the US like the Ducks, Hawks, Sharks or some other team that is up and coming with a decent amount of cap space. Utah also makes a ton of sense with a new market and a team that could push to make the playoffs next year.

That leaves Trelving with some cap space to make moves and the obvious one to me is he brings in Sam Bennett and then extends Knies for a long term deal. Treliving loves truculence and will want some clutch players after seeing Matthews struggle again in these playoffs. Bennett fills a big need in Toronto and with him being from there and loving the big game moments I absolutely see Sam choosing the Leafs if he does leave Florida.

The Flames really should sit on the sidelines of the big free agents and outside of moving Anderson fora leargely futures based return I think staying the course makes the most sense. If the season goes south then guys like Coleman and possibly Kadri/Frost/Backlund could all be pieces teams would want (if Frost goes the short term route as RFA he could be a rental for teams next year).

With McKenna being a generational talent there is no reason the flames should be going big game hunting and banking that this past season was a launchpad and not a one off
