He said something stupid, but people are acting like he just put policy in place. People are way overreacting if they think this is harmful.

It also shouldn't surprising he gets questioned on pipelines considering his very well known anti-pipeline stance that contradicts Carney's recent interview and considering his previous portfolio was responsible for bills such as C-69. What
is surprising is not deferring the question line (the right thing to do) and instead make Trump like #### up on the spot because that's the dumb takes far ends of the spectrum tend to have. He's always been a major liability and a loose cannon, and as a
cabinet minister he does in fact speak for the government.
Guilbeault outside of Trudeau and arguably maybe Freeland are by far the most responsible Liberal members for the deeply unpopular Trudeau government and resentment that almost nearly sunk the Liberals. Carney needs to step in and put his foot down or his messaging will be drowned out fast and regret keeping him on in cabinet.
This likely isn't the focus that Carney wanted on day one of his new cabinet, but we here we have some of the same old usuals (once again) who can't help themselves who still have to excuse this clearly dumbass behavior simply because it gives an opportunity to 'own the cons'.
