There is a chance that our 1st is #1OA and we draft McKenna next year.

Signing Geekie - or anyone - to a contract that requires our 1st, risks losing out on McKenna. Do you want Geekie that badly?

If you want to offer up to $4.68M sure, go for it. But the 1st is absolutely off the table.
