Fernie is almost fully open. Not the ski hill but the trails in and around town. I've been out exploring a lot of the terrain I don't typically ride and have found some great blue rated screamers with a relatively easy climb.
The Provincial Park area is almost G2G; with this rainfall it should be ready once the sun comes out. Can't wait for Phat Bastard-Mushroom head-Erics Trip laps.
Swine Flu/Y'eddy is running beautifully and it's right beside Fernie Brewing....
Trail Dogs is a great shuttle (Contra is under construction) for those who want to hit a flow trail with jump lines.
4 Corners is wide open (Downfall, Erics Trail, Sidewinder, etc). It's an easy climb and great fun for the kids. Plus it leads right back to town and the pubs.
I'd get down there at the end of May if the weather clears up and you're wanting to beat the crowds to find cheap hotels.
