The real trouble, I suspect, is that the Leafs can promote Knies to Marner's spot, let Marner walk, and get the cap room to address their holes in other places – particularly on defence. I don't imagine Knies is going anywhere.

Leafs will miss Marner BIG TIME...he is not only one of their better offensive player his is a great two way player.
