My take is, the Flames can maybe do well with Frost or Rossi, but I’m doubtful they can with both. I don’t like the strategy of addressing their C depth by acquiring other teams redundancies. I don’t think that is a formula for success and, if anything, actually moves them further away from truly addressing the organizational need of a C who can carry the mail.
If the Flames are going to do something this year, I wonder if there is a way to move up in the draft to grab McQueen. He may fall and if he does fall outside the top 10, could, say, the Rangers be enticed to make a deal? I think Andersson could be a fit there but the Flames would likely have to add and I’m not too sure what that would be. Definitely think, though, that the Rangers pick will be in play.

McQueen probably tops out at a Michael Rasmussen type player. I personally would pass on any of these giants, they almost never produce at the NHL level.
