Its very odd for the Sharks to entertain moving the 2nd before knowing who goes 1st, just as much as it would be trading 6th for 2nd when you don't even know if your guy is there at 2 depending on what the Islanders do.

I'd wager the Sharks brain trust feel it's time to crawl out of the basement with what they got. They're going to be aggressive in the defense market and can get whatever they need with their draft capital and prospects. There's a ton of value there to accelerate their build. I bet they'll be the busiest traders this year leading into the draft and draft day.
I'm imagining at least a Sergachev level trade where it came out of nowhere (who thought TB would move him?)
