A lot of these guys can be pretty manipulative. You have to be a psychopath to do the things these guys do.

I think there is a natural tendency for people to support and believe people that they are close to. I think it's just the way humans are naturally wired and it takes a lot to break that.
Anyway, the details are worse than I could have imagined. I always knew whatever happened was bad, but I didn't expect there to be so much malice. Obviously the defendants have a right to tell their side, but I can't imagine there is anything they can say to lessen the impact of the the victim's testimony.
