If I was the Canucks I would make the following moves.
Trade with Devils
Out : Hughes
In : Silayev, Nemec, Mercer, 2026 first round pick, 2025 second round pick
Trade with Sabres
Out : Petersson
In : Byram, Rosen, Pinto
Trade with Jackets
Out : Demko
In : Sillinger
Then hire David Carle as head coach and do a quick turnaround in players and culture. Completely flush this last year down.

Why would the Devils ever do that trade? Two years of Quinn Hughes is probably not worth that price when you think you are the front runner to get him in a couple years anyway.
Pinto does not play on the Sabres. Not sure there is much of a market for a 11.6 million dollar player coming off a 45 point season. Suspect the market for him is less than the market for Cozens was. More likely that the Sabres would do Norris and a 3rd for Pettersson and a 2026 1st.
Demko at most could get something like a 2nd round pick. One year left of a goalie who missed almost the entire season before with injuries is not worth a 21 year old former 12th overall pick.
All those trades look like some sort of Canucks fantasy scenario.
