Wolf's track record is insane. Wins at every level. People had doubts about his ability to win in the NHL, due to his size. The Flames' coaching and scouting teams are looking at the way Wolf plays and seeing that it's just different than other goalies. He's more athletic, he has better awareness, he's in better position, etc...
It's obviously a risk to sign him long-term, but he's nothing like Skinner.
