Baseball is like that though. If Kirk squeezes that foul tip in the bottom of the third to complete the strikeout then it's 2 outs with runners 1st and 2nd (or maybe the corners) when Bellinger comes up, and his sac fly is out number 3. Now Gausman is out of the 3rd with no runs, and has thrown like 40 pitches. Probably that doesn't rock his confidence.
That game goes differently after that, imo - just the score effects of 1-0 Jays instead of 6-1 Yankees alone makes a difference.
