I have prepared myself for either outcome. I voted a couple of weeks ago as I have never really been a swing voter and with Trudeau stepping down it made my decision to stay with the Liberals an easy one. My vote means little as I live in the Shepard riding and it is just waves of blue all around the neighborhood but I am still proud of exercising my right which admittedly would have been hard to do if Trudeau decided to give it one last run.
If the Conservatives win we will at least hear less whining here locally and I think it puts a lot more accountability on the UCP who are able to blame everything on Ottawa and large portions of her rurally isolated, and uneducated base will drink down that Kool-aid as fact. I also do not believe PP to be a strong leader and he is only effective in being the “attack dog” to throw out slogans and copy some of the rhetoric that has made the MAGA movement so strong in the US and has almost ruined his entire campaign since Trump out Canada in his crosshairs.
If the Liberals win I will be happy as that is the party of choice for me and I feel Carney is more qualified and with his various experience in the private sector I feel he is better to deal with Trump who is far from a traditional politician. The worst thing about a Carney win is how the idiots in this province will start to beat the drum loudly we either need to separate altogether or join the US which is going to be embarrassing on a national/international stage.
Yesterday driving home from the grocery store I saw a guy in a $85,000 truck with his stupid Oilers decal on one side and a fresh ##### Carney on the other side. Almost a guarantee that guy is from rural Alberta originally. The Liberals have made his life so bad that he feels the need to make his personality be about his political beliefs.
