That would be good. In reality, the media needs to have some control, though. You can't leave this to the parties to whinge and complain about how onerous a debate is to prepare for. More debates, more answering questions, and then not covering events where they are not allowed to ask questions. To me, the media has a significant role to play in democracy and should be fulfilling that.
