Once the rules changed, they both got exposed. Holland for his inability to outspend teams, scouting etc even playing field. Lou for different reasons.

By your logic, every GM before the salary cap sucked? Holland was the GM for the Red Wings in 2007-08 two years after the cap. They went on to make the playoffs another 8 years straight after that.
Yeah E=NG, and yeah in the last 5-6 seasons his philosophy has not built good teams, but the results are the results. 3 Stanley Cups is rare air no matter the context.
