I figure there's no hurry to trade Andersson before the draft. Teams seriously overvalue picks at this time of year, partly because the losing teams are trying to appease their fans by drafting shiny new toys, and partly because GMs and scouts get their gonch in a twist over the perceived need to go after particular players. So it's probably not worth a great deal of effort to try to pry a 2025 pick out of anybody.

I'd be quite happy to see the team get a 2026 pick and a decent prospect at centre. They can increase his value by retaining salary for '25-26. If they trade him after July 1, they can increase it further by letting the acquiring team negotiate an extension with him right away. Several teams are going to go big-game hunting for defencemen and come up empty, and Andersson could be a good Plan B for any number of clubs.
