- The status quo is not okay
- We have a plan to implement change
- The change will help everyday Americans with everyday expenses

This... is essentially what sold undecided voters on MAGA.

And it's essentially why Kamala Harris lost the previous election - she represents the status quo, does not have a plan to implement change, and the Biden administration just watched as wealth became further and further concentrated in the hands of the 1%

why won't AoC gain traction?

It's not because the "people" won't get behind her. She's the most magnetic political personality in the States since Obama.

It's because the democrat party won't get behind her.

They are, at their core, a capitalist, right-of-center political party. It's just that USA's concept of center is so skewed that they are labelled a left-leaning party.

Democrat politicians want the status quo of free market capitalism. They're even happy standing idle collecting their paycheque under the Trump regime.

And they are not going to risk losing their multi millionaire, billionaire backers by allowing AoC to rise up. Because the solution to everything that ailes the Americans has always been "Taxing the ultra-wealthy".

I wouldn't confuse AoC with some socialist far lefter. She's... just a regular left-of-center politician who would be closer to Liberal-aligned in our Country.

Her power is her populist appeal.
Wonderful post and so true. I still in remember being floored when girlysports suggested Bernie Sanders was a "left wing, liberal nut" while understanding that his policies and values would probably have had him center or even right in Canada back in 2016 when the debate was going on, lol.

US politics is completely skewed because both parties require wealth transferred from the lower/middle class to the upper class because of their donors. They need to make up what a "left wing, nutjob" is to keep wealth transferring up through both parties.

Bernie Sanders/AOC are threats to what these parties are doing so they get labeled absurdly to discredit and ensure they don't get elected. For Democrat billionaire donors "opposing" four years of a GOP government is better than having Sanders/AOC in power.
