I dont know Edwards or any of the rest of them, but I have seen no evidence to suggest that if the right move is available the wallet is not open. They spend. The Flames have clearly been willing to spend to the Cap when the opportunity presents itself.
One of the Hallmarks of a successful organization is, from the Top, you institute people that you trust and believe in and give them clear organizational goals and then....dont micro-manage them. Just let them do their jobs.
If they do them poorly....theres the door and we start over. Otherwise? Dont interfere.
I do the same thing with my employees.

In my limited experience working with management I do think the owner matters, it's not about "hands off" but rather boosting up the team. Edwards doesn't seem too interested in the sense that of course he wants to win but he doesn't seem dedicated at least from what I've read here.
I look at Florida as an example, it was a night and day difference when Viola bought the team. He demanded a certain standard constantly and kept people responsible, with a clear vision.
